A sample of the backgrounds I'm developing for a mini-project, "Toy Trouble". So far, 10/13 finished... I should probably get on to the animation :|

Finished walk cycle!

Character Walk cycle from Rebecca Hayes on Vimeo.

Pencil, Photoshop and a bit of watercolour. I wanted to have the water splashing out of the bowl but didn't have time. I'll be posting more interesting stuff soon, I swear!

Oh and if you haven't already, check out Pencil Test Depot, a new blog dedicated to posting new and old/rare pencil tests! Such a great idea to have them all in one place!

Walk cycle- clean up

Pencil on paper. Assignment for my 2D animation class- the brief was to create an "unusual" walk cycle. Pretty happy with how this has turned out so far. Now to begin the colouring process...

And here's a preview of the little guy I made for a Stop Motion project:

Walk cycle progress...

So this is my first rough pencil test of the walk cycle I'm working on. My second time animating with pencil and paper. I've started with the first step, and duplicated it for now. It's quite jittery in places like the hair, coat and eyes, will need to fix on the second pass. At the moment I think the blink is a few frames too early, so I'll try and move that aswell.

I'll be adding the secondary actions of the hoodie and ponytail once I lock this down.

Any critical feedback is more than welcome, I need fresh eyes on this! I'm so tired! Ack! Bed!
